School Targets
As you will be aware we have had three Targets for this year:
- Improving the Reading Achievement of an indentified group of students and the school as a whole.
- Improving the integration of ICT Skills across the school.
- Improving Writing Achievement across the school.
At our final Board of Trustees Meeting for 2008 last week I was proud to share the results we have achieved in all three targets this year. Through a focussed approach to developing all three areas within our teaching and learning I was able to show the quite impressive gains we have made.
ALL Children have made positive progress in reading this year. 92% of our children are now reading “at’ or “above” the level expected. With 69% of our children above the level expected for their age.
Our Writing has shown considerable improvement too and this will continue to be an area for further development next year, with spelling being a particular focus.
The development of ICT has been positive also as we become increasingly competent and confident in recognising how ICT can be effectively integrated into teaching to enhance learning. This too will continue to be a focus for next year as we consider how we might use ICT to further develop our writing.
