Our Stories…

On Monday Room 6 were the first school group to visit the Our Stories Exhibit at the Nelson Museum. Our Stories is a series of photographs of people living with a disability and some of their stories. While at the museum our students not only got to view the photographs and read short excerpts of their stories but also had the opportunity to meet and hear the stories of two guests who have a disability. This was a powerful experience.

 

Room 6 Filming

 

Continuing from their visit to the Museum, next week some of our Room 6 students will be creating shorts films about the life of a person with a disability. We will host 5 guests next week as they work with the students filming and telling their story. This should be an amazing experience too.
