2009 School Targets

This year we have focused on Writing and Spelling Achievement. I was able to report to the Board of Trustees last Thursday on the progress that we have made in both of these areas.

Nearly all of our students have improved their writing ability throughout the year as teachers have focussed on specific areas in their teaching. We still have a group of students that are not achieving at the level expected and they will continue to be our target group in 2010.

There has been a notable improvement in spelling achievement across the school. We have trialled a new spelling programme this year and will continue to implement it in 2010 and review our progress. Teachers have identified areas of the programme that require further development and how they might achieve this.
