This week we welcomed Aspen to Turama and  Brody to Ramaroa iti. We hope that they enjoy being part of our learning community. Welcome to their parents who have moved recently from Brightwater.

Last week Ariana represented us at the Motueka Year 7/8 Speech Contest. Ariana delivered her speech with clarity and confidence and really impressed us all with her presence. Congratulations Ariana.

Our swimming lessons are going brilliantly. You have to be so proud of your children, they are an absolute pleasure to take each day on the bus. We have received a number of very positive comments from staff and the public on the way our students conduct themselves at the pool.

We have another week of swimming lessons next week and then the following week Marama are full on into Massive with two public performances on Thursday 19  September. Again, the focus and attitude of our students is enabling a performance which they are co-creating with positive vigour.

We have been looking at how we can be involved in a programme developing an understanding of how we can improve our local waterways. We have been meeting with various groups to see how the school can be involved in planting alongside local waterways and tending these over time. We are also investigating the feasibility of building a shade house in which to propagate and grow on plants to be used.

We have now been offered the opportunity to plant 1000 various plants on a property in Kelling Road on Monday 23rd September. We are going to need some parent help to make this happen. More details to follow.

Our first day for 2020 will be Tuesday  4 February.
