Dear Parents & Caregivers

Term three is certainly in full swing, with some enthusiastic learning happening in every learning space.

This week saw teams representing us in a Technology Challenge at MOTEC. We had Nina and Connor representing us in creating a Tukutuku Panel that will reside on the Marae. It will be the first collaborative piece from all 14 schools in our region.

Moonlanders off to Technology Challenge

Thank you to the parents who are helping our senior students and teachers develop their skills for their chosen Winter Sports event coming up in a few weeks.

When Marama is not sorting out a Whodunnit as part of their Forensic Inquiry they are beginning to think about how their MASSIVE performance may evolve.

There are also speeches being crafted and masks about to be started (once we decide what we are actually doing!)

We had hoped to be using a new report format this term as teachers begin to collate these, however due to technical difficulties with the company that is creating these for us it looks like our present format will be used one last time!

At our Board Meeting this week we looked at how we are tracking with our annual goals to date, were updated by Cathy on how our focus students are achieving in mathematics and spent some time familiarising everyone with our financial policy and procedures.

Today we hosted Yukiko Kaizu a Japanese educationalist who is interested in looking at the New Zealand education system leading to a review of their current system. She was immediately impressed by how happy the children were and was quite taken with their smiles!

Next Friday we host the whole staff and several Board Members from Mayfield School in Blenheim as they gather ideas before they embark on a major renovation of their school.

Your children continue to inspire and delight us.
